Who knew the history of balloons involved pigs, a genius physicist and Cher?

I recently stayed at a hotel that had a big balloon arch in the lobby, and while I greatly admired the ingenuity and artistry of whoever strung all those balloons together, what I really wanted to do was sneak down at night and pop all the balloons.

Pop goes the weasel!
